Camp Life

At every campsite, students on Semester in the West help to set up the trailer and kitchen for daily use. This involves unloading the trailer, setting up all the tables, and hooking up all the stoves to the propane system. The inside of the trailer is re-rigged for use as a student and staff work area with internet and access to our internal file server. Check out the trailer tour slideshow below. Trailer:

Semester in the West is made possible by a 16' horse trailer that has been converted into a mobile classroom. This trailer has solar panels and satellite internet, so the students can stay connected. The trailer is crucial to the program because it allows the students to conduct research and complete school work using technology otherwise unavaliable in the field. The trailer also folds out into a kitchen, where the Westies prepare three meals a day.
